With beautifully renovated spaces, multiple function areas, premium food and beverage offerings, and a relaxed atmosphere, the Maylands Hotel is the perfect place for celebrations, corporate events, long lunches, milestone moments, and everything in between 🍸 We are now looking for an organised, people-focused, and enthusiastic Functions Coordinator to join our team! ABOUT THE ROLE 👀This is a fast-paced and hands-on hospitality role where you’ll work closely with our Venue Manager, kitchen team, and front-of-house legends to help coordinate and deliver exceptional functions and events across the hotel. From birthdays and engagement parties to corporate functions and community events, you’ll play an important role in creating smooth, memorable experiences for our guests from enquiry right through to execution. Your day-to-day may include: Responding to function and event enquiries Coordinating bookings, menus, floor plans, and event details Assisting with event planning and preparation Delivering warm, professional, and responsive customer service Working closely with the kitchen and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth event execution Supporting functions and events during service periods Assisting with promotional activities and social media content Maintaining presentation standards across all event spaces Building positive relationships with guests and repeat customers Helping identify opportunities to grow our functions and events offering
ABOUT YOU 💫You’re someone who genuinely enjoys working with people and creating positive experiences. You’re organised, proactive, and thrive in a busy hospitality environment where no two days are the same. Most importantly, you bring a great attitude, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn and grow with the team. Ideally, you’ll have: Experience in hospitality, customer service, functions, or events Strong organisational and time-management skills A friendly, professional, and approachable communication style Confidence working with customers and supporting a team environment A proactive attitude and willingness to jump in where needed Good attention to detail and the ability to multitask Experience with social media or promotions (highly regarded but not essential) RSA certification (required) Availability to work a flexible hospitality roster, including evenings and weekends when required
